Appeals

Step 1: If you wish to appeal an examination score, evaluation or course grade to the Course Director/Course Committee, the appeal form must be completed https://www.utmb.edu/meded/studgradeappeal/ within 5 business days of the posting of the exam score, evaluation or course grade.

Step 2: If you wish to appeal a denial of your initial appeal by the course director/course committee, you may appeal to the Academic Review Committee (ARC), Please email your request within 5 business days of the denial by the course director/committee to apcarccmty@utmb.edu. No further appeals are allowed.

Step 1: If you wish to appeal a dismissal determination, you may do so by appealing to the Academic Progress Committee (APC), please email your request to apcarccmty@utmb.edu.

Step 2: If the APC denies your appeal, you may appeal that decision to the ARC. Please submit your request to apcarccmty@utmb.edu within 5 business days after the date on the official notification letter from the APC.

Step 3: If the ARC denies your appeal, you can appeal that decision to the Dean of Medicine. Please submit your request to apcarccmty@utmb.edu within 5 business days after the date on the official notification letter from the ARC.

Step 4: If the Dean of Medicine upholds your dismissal, no further appeals are allowed. If the dismissal decision of the APC is reversed by either the ARC or the Dean of Medicine, the case returns to the APC for a determination of the remedial work required.
