Biography
Cliff Snyder is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) at the John Sealy School of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Tx. He earned his bachelor's degree in Health Science Studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He then went on to obtain firefighting and EMS certifications, becoming a volunteer firefighter and first responder in Galveston County, where he continues to actively serve since 2005. Mr. Snyder additionally earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from UTMB, graduating in 2010. With a passion for trauma and acute care medicine, he started his PA career at the Texas Medical Center at UTHealth/Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Department of Neurosurgery. He later transitioned to UTMB in the Department of Surgery where he served as the Educational Director of the Surgical Simulation Lab (2015-2025) as well as having a stint as a Physician Assistant in general surgery with a focus on acute care surgery. Continuing his passion for medical education, he became full-time faculty for the UTMB PAS Program in 2025. Mr. Snyder was inducted into the UTMB Academy of Master Teachers in 2018 and is recognized as a UT System Distinguished Teaching Professor.
