Come Join the Legacy!
Welcome to the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine. UTMB has had the distinct honor of training exceptional physicians in Texas for 130 years. We are a leader in medical education, encompassing thriving
research and clinical enterprises across four campuses and seven hospitals. We are home to the Galveston National Laboratory, a level 4 federal biocontainment research facility, as well as clinical services and residency programs affiliated with NASA.
In addition, UTMB is proud to provide medical care to Texas's incarcerated population and houses the Texas Department Criminal Justice Hospital on campus.
Medical students at UTMB have distinguished educational experiences, including early clinical exposure, problem/team-based learning, an integrated curriculum with multiple research/clinical opportunities, and a plethora of diverse clinical rotations across
the state. We offer several areas of scholarly concentrations that allow students to gain knowledge and experiences in non-specialty-based areas of medicine. UTMB is committed to enabling students to achieve their maximum potential by collaborating
with them to enhance their educational experiences.
