Virtual Orientation - 2020 - FAQs

Yes, orientation is mandatory.
You will receive an email with information on how to access orientation. Orientation will be completely virtual and via Zoom.
You may contact Dr. Norma Pérez, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at noaperez@utmb.edu
Orientation is completely virtual, but you may access campus with a prior appointment.
Yes, administration will take attendance for each session.
Orientation is scheduled for students only.
Your VPN log in is the same as your UTMB login.
You may contact the IS Helpdesk at (409) 772-5200 for any login issues.
Yes, you will need to complete the questionnaire and review the return to campus instructions before July 8 or a HOLD will be placed on your record.
You have until July 7 to complete the Online Orientation or a HOLD will be placed on your record.
You will log in to the Online Orientation using your UTMB credentials. If you need help remembering your credentials, you will need to contact Information Services at (409) 772-5200. Click here to access the Online Orientation. If you have any technical issues while completing Online Orientation, please contact Student Life at student.life@utmb.edu or (409) 772-1996.
The schedule is available in Blackboard, SOM website, and Dr. Perez will send it via email.
All Zoom Orientation sessions will be recorded and uploaded in Blackboard.
These sessions will be recorded and uploaded in Blackboard where you are able to view at your leisure.
Yes, you will be able to submit questions during the Zoom sessions.
Photo sessions will be scheduled during META (for those living locally) and in August for those waiting to arrive for GAR. Student Affairs will request badges and distribute when ready. More details with scheduled times will be sent in a separate email.
You will receive an email from Ms. Valerie Carmichael with your photo shoot schedule.
It is mandatory that you always wear a mask and that you practice social distancing.
