Post-Baccalaureate & Specialized Master’s Programs

It is not uncommon for premed students to consider post-baccalaureate or specialized master’s programs to strengthen their application. These programs are designed for applicants who primarily wish to improve their overall academic standing or science GPA by taking additional coursework. Some programs may even include research, clinical exposure, and test preparation. If an applicant’s goal is to increase their GPA, they should ensure a majority of the coursework is graded.

The University of Texas Medical Branch does not offer a post-baccalaureate or specialized master’s program. However, we have a Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences offering similar programs. Click here for a comprehensive list of academic offerings. Below are other national and Texas programs for prospective applicants to consider.

NOTE: The University of Texas Medical Branch does not offer a formal pre-Medical or pre-Health post-baccalaureate program.
